Officially premiered on September 2nd, 2021, an all new acoustic reimagining of Bellavolent’s “Holding It Down” has been shared, along with an accompanying music video. No surprises here, but we love it! Read along for our full review, as well as a refresher on the artist.

Considering we just reviewed a different version of Bellavolent’s “Holding It Down” not too long ago, you can only imagine our sincere excitement when we learned an acoustic version (with music video) was on its way to dropping. Produced by Luke Villemur, and featured in the video playing the grand piano, these two have filled us to the brim with emotion and we can’t wait for you all to watch and listen.

Now it’s not all too often that we get to experience two different versions of a song that we equally love, however each one is busting with pros. Speaking directly on the acoustic version, the highlight had to have been that we got to hear the full spectrum and range of Bellavolent’s vocals. It’s a lot more obvious in the music video, but physically getting to watch her do her thing and the true amount of passion that she holds was downright inspiring. Witnessing the stripped back version here while Luke serenaded us as well, this one’s an instant classic for all.

The entire release process and the juxtaposition of pop versus ballad has been a lovely display of artistry as a whole too. Our real recommendation here would be to listen to each song back to back, then watch their respective music videos to get both appeals. You can be the judge of which you like better, because in our opinion, that would be an impossible task to pick. They both hit different chords with us emotionally, but are both absolutely worth your time and focus.

Looking onward to the future for Bellavolent, we hope that this release style isn’t a one time occurrence, because we’ve loved every second of it. Wherever her sound goes in terms of style or genre, we know we’ll be waiting on pins and needles eagerly. Now’s about the time we’ll point you in the direction to get listening and watching!
