Seeing its official release today on May 21st, 2021, we couldn’t help but be abundantly overwhelmed by the greatness that was created on Cade Earick’s newest album, The Lives and Stipulations of The Weakened. Read along with us for our full featured review of the record, in addition to a background on the artist himself.

Effortlessly blending up genres that span the spectrum of music, Cade Earick’s latest album, The Lives and Stipulations of The Weakened, instantly took us by hold not long after our initial listen. Influenced by an eclectic mix of legends such as Ben Folds, Bruce Springsteen, and more, Earick has certainly infused his own particular brand of sound on the record as well.

Now while he’s been compared to the likes of Rex Orange County or even My Chemical Romance due to the bombtastic instrumentation, we got huge vibes from James Blake as well. Even being in the same conversation as those artists is the highest of compliments, however we think with a record like this, there’s no telling how high Earick’s stock could possibly rise. Channeling pop, alternative, folk, rock, and everything under the umbrella of alternative, it’s even more impressive that Earick produced, mixed, and mastered this beauty by himself.

It would be an impossible task to listen to this album and even attempt to pick out a “favorite” of the bunch. The reason being for that is that the record is about as cohesive as you could possibly want. What that means is that it’s the type of album that you click play at the beginning and take it in as a complete experience. It’s a journey through the mind of Cade Earick, a journey through 16 imagery-filled songs that exude the inner workings of the way his mind works.

We have to be honest though, this was our first introduction to the music of this particular artist. With that being said, we’ve now assigned ourselves some “musical homework” in order to hear the evolution of where his sound started and how he ended up here. Surely for a musician like himself who is producing, mixing, and mastering, you’ll be able to audibly hear the differences from his first release to the present. It’s just another journey that we’re ready to get into.

It should probably go without saying at this point, but without a doubt this is an album that we are highly suggesting you dig into as soon as possible. We’ve included all the important links below in order for you to listen and follow along with everything new that comes from Cade Earick. Enjoy!
