Hitting on all cylinders in terms of strong lyricism, genre-blending, and a powerful message, the artist known as Ceyeo has done impeccable work on their single, “Lost”. Read on as we look closer into the track, in addition to a background on the artist.

Juxtaposing a positive vibe and attitude, all the while discussing an immensely heavy topic, Ceyeo has gone above and beyond on their newest single, “Lost”. It’s a cosmic blend of Hip Hop, some R&B, but endlessly dripping with a ton of chill attached. As a Chicago-based artist who’s been making a name quickly for themselves, it’s no surprise in the slightest as their music speaks volumes. Of course, we’re excited for everyone out there to check this out and explore the rest of their discography.

Taking a deeper look into the heaviness of “Lost”, ultimately the song takes a look at the one year anniversary of Russia invading Ukraine. It’s a song about “the long-term trauma war can inflict on a person” and explains things from the perspective of a “couple trying to work things out together after a partner comes home from war”. As a masterful lyricist and expert storyteller, we confidently feel that’s where Ceyeo shines the brightest on this song. You might quickly be duped by the upbeat and vibrant nature that the instrumentals give off, but once you actually begin to connect the dots within, you’ll experience just how well rounded this song really is. Though this was actually our initial impression of the artist’s music, we can think of no better first impression than something as real as this.

Whether you’re a major fan of Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, and beyond, Ceyeo has truly checked so many boxes in terms of creativity, experimentation, and expression. You don’t necessarily need to be a fan of any of those to enjoy this, rather the immersive and current events present make it a mandatory listen for music lovers across the spectrum. We’re still very much at the beginning of the year, so our sincere hopes are that we hear more from Ceyeo in the coming months!
