For those that may be unaware, Kaitlin is a singer and songwriter who plays piano and guitar. There’s currently a fair amount of buzz surrounding her most recent album release, as Ryan Roxie (guitarist, Alice Cooper), said of Kaitlin's first album, ABYSS: "It has a Fiona Apple type music vibe." Kaitlin composed, recorded, and produced ABYSS and her three-song single À Côté Du Paradis. The compositions combine elements from classical, electronic, and cinematic styles of music--a product of her background as both a filmmaker and a classically trained pianist.

For those who enjoy a dramatic instrumental that takes you into another world, you’re going to absolutely love these three brand new songs. According to Spotify, if you like Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi, or Beethoven with a side of electronica, you'll like À Côté Du Paradis. We fully agree, as the instrumentals are quite intriguing to those who enjoy this type of sound. Each second that passes by is a reminder that one person successfully created such beautiful music. We seriously commend Kaitlin on her talent and compositions that she’s created here.

While French or Italian are certainly not our first languages, Kaitlin was kind enough to provide us the translations of the songs on the record. Here they are:  À Côté Du Paradis (French) - Next to Paradise, La Cloche En Verre (French) - The Bell Jar, Fantasmagoria (Italian) - Phantasmagoria, Trois Démons (French) - Three Demons. Although not paramount to enjoying the music, it’s always nice to learn a thing or two about the meanings behind the songs.

We wouldn’t quite say that the music is intense, as there are certainly calming and relaxing effects to it. Instrumental music to us is meant to be listened to while focusing on something important or maybe even trying to zone out, however, the way that À Côté Du Paradis was constructed makes it feel like it could be listened to anytime of the day. It’s an atmosphere and sound all on its own and we truly can’t wait to dive back in again shortly. We highly recommend and encourage you to give a listen.
