Following up his 2020 EP Vignettes, Zack Fletcher has made his swift return to music with a lush new single titled “The Traveler”. We are loving this one! Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

Currently based out of Ohio, Zack Fletcher is a singer, songwriter, and unbelievably talented guitarist who is effortlessly crafting up passionate and atmospheric music. With the success of Vignettes in 2020, we’re thrilled the turnaround time for more has been minimal as “The Traveler” is everything we had hoped for more and more. You should probably know right now that we are overwhelmingly recommending a listen.

For the fans out there of Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and so many more, Zack Fletcher has taken the best of their sounds and seamlessly integrated a massive dose of his own originality into all of his work. As much as we recommend “The Traveler”, a deep dive into his past works should 100% be up your alley as well. On this newest single, Zack has made the cognizant effort to evolve his sound and set off on a new exploration as to what he can create. This track is certainly a change from his past works, but is a step in the right direction for where we expected him to take his overall sound as a whole.

This is actually the first released song in a new collection of songs called Ohio Reveries. They’re “songs inspired by his home and the places it has taken him”. Each of the five new tracks will be released as singles in the latter half of 2021 with the full collection and alternate versions to follow. As far as kicking things off on a high note, it’s going to be a tough one to attempt to top this single, but if anyone can do it, it’s this talented artist.

On this single specifically, there really was a shift in sound from past works, but also a maturity that came through on them via the arrangements in the background. Everything sounded pristine, precise, and exactly where it needed to be. According to Zack, this song is exploring themes of loss and living for today, inspired by the sudden passing of a few friends and acquaintances within a short period of time.

The most important thing you can do right now is check out “The Traveler” as it has sincerely moved us with its heartfelt message and stunning display of instrumentation. We’ve done the easy part and linked everything important below in order to follow along with Zack Fletcher and listen. Enjoy!
