For her first release of 2021, MĒAGAN is back and better than ever with the release of her latest, "Troubled". We sat with the artist behind the music to hear all about how the song came about, her inspirations including artists, albums, and genres, and what we can expect from her in the future. For those unaware, MĒAGAN is a singer, songwriter, and creative director, hailing from Portland, OR with roots in Oakland, CA. Blending up multiple genres such as R&B, Pop, Soul, and so much more, her latest single “Troubled” might just be her best yet. After music became “an un-ignorable yell from her soul”, she began to follow her biggest dreams of taking the path as a musician.

While “Troubled” is her just her 4th single to date as a solo artist, she’s seen nothing but success since her debut. Each and every song is improving in quality and production. Now we don’t want to give too much away here, because we’d obviously prefer you check out the interview for yourself, we do have to let you know that more music is in the works and on the way soon. It might even be a full fledged EP, which would be an absolute delight.

Learning about the artist behind the music and where she derives her passion from was an eye-opening experience. You can always hear the legitimate and genuine feel that comes through in these songs, but for someone so dedicated like Meagan, we have no doubts in our mind that her star is going to continue to shine bright the more she releases.

Some other tidbits of information that we discussed in our talk were some key albums in her life that swayed her in the direction of becoming a musician, what made her take the path as a musician, and how she’s working on herself as a person. Seriously though, there’s no possible way that you could watch this interview and not immediately bolt to check out her work. While her discography isn’t super deep yet, that just means you can listen to it all from start to finish to really see how far she’s come in such a short time.

Wrapping things up here though, “Troubled” is one of the most well produced and original sounding tracks that have come our way in quite a while. The quality is infinitely high and the artist has put forth a vocal performance that is sure to send shivers down your spine.
