AC/DC Brings Thunder to a Packed Alamodome in San Antonio

There are nights when a stadium just feels different the moment the house lights drop, and Friday night at the Alamodome was exactly that kind of night. AC/DC rolled into San Antonio as part of their PWR UP Tour, and the building was packed wall to wall with fans who clearly weren't about to miss a chance to see rock and roll royalty in the flesh. Honestly, it felt like a privilege just to be in the room.

From the opening song, it was obvious this was going to be a special evening. Angus Young, still duckwalking across the stage in his schoolboy uniform, played like a man who hasn't lost a single step. His guitar work was as sharp and electric as ever, proof that some legends really do just keep getting better with age. And then there's Brian Johnson. His voice remains absolutely immaculate, hitting every note with the same raw power that's defined this band for decades. Watching him lead the crowd through anthem after anthem, it was hard to believe how many years these guys have been doing this.

The setlist was about as perfect as it gets. Staples like "Thunderstruck," "Back In Black," "Highway to Hell," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and "T.N.T." landed one after another, each one hitting the crowd like a wave. "Hells Bells" brought out the massive bell and had the whole dome roaring, while "For Those About to Rock" closed things out with a cannon blast that felt like it shook the foundation of the building. There wasn't a dull moment in the entire set.

Visually, the show was a full sensory experience. The pyro was relentless in the best way, the lighting design was sharp and cinematic, and the sound was mixed beautifully, crisp and powerful without ever feeling overwhelming. Every riff, every drum hit, every scream from Johnson came through crystal clear.

And the fans matched the band's energy every step of the way. Light up devil horns bobbed across the entire crowd all night, turning the Alamodome into a glowing red sea during the darker moments of the show. The energy in that building never dipped, from the first song straight through the encore.

At the end of the night, it was hard to walk away feeling anything but grateful. Bands like AC/DC don't come around twice in a lifetime, and getting to witness Angus and Brian still delivering at this level was something truly special. San Antonio got a masterclass in what a rock and roll show is supposed to feel like. Simply put, it was a perfect night.
