Dead & Company Announce Three-Night Golden Gate Park Celebration This August

San Francisco is about to feel the love once again. Dead & Company have officially announced a monumental three-night run at the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park this summer, set for Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3. The historic performances will honor 60 years of the music of the Grateful Dead, bringing the band’s legendary catalog back to the heart of the city where it all began.

Presented by Another Planet Entertainment and co-produced with Live Nation, in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, these shows promise to be one of the most unforgettable events of the year for Deadheads and live music fans alike. Each night will feature unique, sprawling sets from Dead & Company, making every show its own special chapter in the ongoing story of the Dead.

As if that wasn’t enough, an all-star roster of special guest openers will kick off the festivities each evening with extended 75-minute sets:

  • Friday, August 1: Modern bluegrass phenom Billy Strings

  • Saturday, August 2: Genre-blurring outlaw troubadour Sturgill “Johnny Blue Skies” Simpson

  • Sunday, August 3: Beloved Phish frontman and jam legend Trey Anastasio Band
