ill peach Brightens the Night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles

On May 16, ill peach took to The Wiltern stage to support Hayley Kiyoko on her 2023 Spring Panorama Tour. The band played a quick six song set, which included their biggest hit to date, “GUM.” There was plenty of sound diversity, with one member on electric guitar, one on dual keyboards, and the last on lead vocals.

The lead singer was on their knees several times during the performance, extending their hand out towards the audience and asking for crowd participation. Another memorable song on the setlist was “BLAH BLAH BLAH,” where the band asked the crowd to sing “blah blah blah” when the members moved their hands like they were talking. With little time for talking during their set, the keyboardist managed to state that he helped make Kiyoko’s last album with her, thus resulting in his band gaining an opening slot on her tour. From the beginning, it was obvious that most people in the crowd were not there to see ill peach, but as their set continued, the talking quickly quieted down and the crowd started to get into the songs.

We’re quite excited to keep our eyes on this band for the foreseeable future, because considering what we experienced during a short but sweet opening set, the sky is sincerely the limit going forward. If given the opportunity to arrive at Hayley’s show early, we strongly recommend going to see ill peach perform!
