Where’s The Earth Shattering Bass? Low-End Acts You Can’t Miss at Cascade Equinox 2025

What’s the one thing every electronic music festival attendee can agree on? Outside of the port-o-potties needing some consistent attention and care, the need for bass in our music is undeniable. Cascade Equinox did not skimp on bass music aficionados for their 2025 edition. Held in the high deserts of Redmond Oregon, Equinox brings some of the most influential names in the game to the annual late summer soiree.

Beginning on Friday, The Funk Hunters will bring electro-soul and funky bass grooves to a crowd teeming with anticipation for the weekend ahead. Next, Beat Kitty specializes in  glitch-bass with undertones of fun and bouncy hip hop. Look for her to throw in some unexpected crowd pleasing sing-a-long tracks. While in that headspace, look for notable deep dubstep queen, Zen Selekta who deals in the niche genre of hypnotic global bass music. Finally we have Mersiv, who brings huge melodic dubstep anthems to a festival crowd that is looking to be slathered in 808’s. The caliber of festival-level sound and intricate production coming from Mersiv is a rarity in the scene.

Saturday may be lighter on the straight forward dubstep, but diversity should never be viewed as a weakness. Festival favorite TroyBoi will bring a trap hybrid bass sound to the grounds, while showcasing his penchant for wildly creative flips. He has the uncanny ability to whip the crowd into a frenzy. Prior to the madness,  Flamingosis will get the dance floor properly thumping with future-funk beats and smooth grooves with satisfying low-end underlays. Earlier in the day Barisone will bring some more glitch-funk fun and High Step Society will give us that dose of electro swing we didn’t know we needed.

Sunday sends us home with a bevy of bass centric acts. You can count on Noetik The Alchemist to shepherd you through your unavoidable midday exhaustion with a blissful downtempo bass textured offering. Lapa (of genre leading group Emancipator), will continue these serene and subtle low end offerings. As anticipation for our final evening at the Deschutes County Fairground climbs, so does the tempo. Artifakts’ brand of glitchy electro soul will have us grooving to four on the floor beats in the twilight hour. Moontricks will appropriately bring us out of the twilight and into the proper night with  a unique bass fusion with live banjo and harmonica. Finally, to close out our weekend Boogie T will bring his brand of full-throttle dubstep/riddim with some live guitar thrown in for good measure.

All of this to say, Cascade Equinox is making sure bass music is well represented throughout your experience in central Oregon. Bring your earplugs, and let that low end frequency wash over you. See you on the dance floor!
