Ultra Music Festival Announces Bayfront Bark: A Free Pet Adoption Event Supporting Miami’s Animal Welfare Community
Ultra Music Festival is trading beats for barks this month with the announcement of Bayfront Bark, a free pet adoption event set for Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dog Park in the southeast corner of Bayfront Park. The event, organized in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Animal Services, Bayfront Park, the City of Miami, and the Miami Police Department, aims to connect adoptable pets with loving families while supporting local animal welfare initiatives.
As part of its ongoing Mission: Home initiative, Ultra is bringing the community together for a morning of meaningful connection and four-legged fun. In addition to free adoptions (available on a first-come, first-served basis with a valid photo ID), the event will feature complimentary ice cream and limited giveaways while supplies last — including Ultra-branded merchandise, pet products, and community swag. It’s a celebration of compassion, community spirit, and Miami’s animal-loving culture.
Launched in 2019, Mission: Home is Ultra Music Festival’s award-winning sustainability program, created to reduce the festival’s environmental impact while inspiring sustainable practices across the live event industry. In its relatively short tenure, the initiative has made a powerful imprint: implementing 61 environmental and community initiatives, diverting nearly 400,000 pounds of waste from landfills, and eliminating 2.6 million single-use plastic items from circulation.
The program’s efforts have earned both national and international acclaim, including four SUNsational Awards from the Florida Festivals and Events Association (FFEA) and the Sustainability Team Award at the prestigious World Sustainability Awards. Beyond its green initiatives, Mission: Home has demonstrated a deep commitment to community partnerships — notably donating over 65,000 pounds of food and beverages to the local community through a long-standing relationship with The Caring Place.
Recent efforts in 2024 and 2025 have seen the program expand its environmental impact with the repurposing of 54,200 pounds of wood through partnerships with Recreate Miami and Florida Wood Recycling, the composting of nearly 14,000 pounds of food scraps, and the recycling of 9,100 pounds of glass and soft plastic in collaboration with Renuable, Glass for Life, and Lady Green Recycling.
With Bayfront Bark, Ultra Music Festival continues to solidify its role not just as a world-class music event, but as a cornerstone of community outreach and environmental stewardship in Miami. Whether you’re a festival-goer, a dog lover, or someone looking to make a difference, June 21 at Bayfront Park is shaping up to be a day worth marking on the calendar — one where music meets mission in the most heartwarming of ways.
