7th Order partners with Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, records cover of Ronnie Montrose's "Voyager"

Hawaii’s premier rock and roll band, 7th Order, has partnered up with a fantastic non-profit organization, Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, for the release of their Ronnie Montrose cover, “Voyager”. Read on to hear our review of the song and how exactly you can get involved!
What an absolutely outstanding pairing, music and charity. Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is a wonderful organization that is directly benefiting the relief of artists being negatively impacted by Coronavirus. Now onto the music, “Voyager” is a fantastic being covered here by Hawaii’s 7th Order, and boy is it a faithful, yet innovative cover of the classic. The band itself doesn’t just consist of members of 7th Order, in fact, according the band, “we were joined at these sessions by Geoff Thorpe (of Vicious Rumors, a longtime buddy of mine from school days in 60's and 70's Honolulu) and Martin Pugh (legendary British guitarist from Steamhammer, Armageddon, and "The Rod Stewart Album", etc.). Geoff and I are on guitars here, and Martin helped produce this particular track. Sweet Relief heard the track and loved it, as did Leighsa Montrose (Ronnie's widow)...so it's a go.”
So it has instantly become clear that a supergroup formed and absolutely crushed and shredded “Voyager” to pieces. It seems as though the world is navigating through extraordinarily difficult times, music continues to be the constant to help us unwind, along with having the power to raise funds for those that are in need. Knowing that you’re listening to music and that it’s doing good for the common man, there can’t be a better feeling!
The funny thing about this cover, is that 7th Order actually had the demo for the song lying around in the background...since 2001! Nearly 20 years in the making, the song came together to live another day and we played for the masses.
