ACTVE CAPTVE releases the perfect pressure valve with "PSSSH!"
When we envision songs that could come off as cathartic, it’s 100% tracks like this that fit the mold! "PSSSH!" does that in the most explosive, joyful way possible. ACTVE CAPTVE has crafted an anthem here for anyone drowning in bad news, anxiety, and beyond with the endless flow of everyday chaos. Rather than trying to fix any of it, the song lets you finally exhale for its runtime.
Sonically, this track blends alternative rock, electronic pop, and legit punk. They’ve been compared to Twenty One Pilots or AWOLNATION, and we completely understand those comparisons. However, ACTVE CAPTVE pulls it together into something that feels both massive and playful at once…all while staying fresh and original. The rock elements here hit hard, overwhelming in the best way, but they're balanced beautifully by little bursts of electronic texture that keep the track feeling modern and dynamic.
Justin Han, the songwriter and producer behind the project, calls this sound “post-traumatic pop”, and honestly, that description fits perfectly. Based in Austin but with roots in NYC, Han channels anxiety and existential overwhelm into something that never feels overtly heavy. Instead, "PSSSH!" captures that almost giddy relief that comes with finally hitting your breaking point and just letting the pressure valve release.
The vocals throughout are full of passion, carrying urgency without ever tipping into melodrama, and the chorus here is absolutely huge. We immediatel thought that this is a song clearly built for singing along at the top of your lungs. Hearing it and feeling it blasting through a stadium with a crowd shouting every word back would not feel out of place. It's anthemic in every sense!
We also thought it was a standout because of how well it balances chaos. The song feels restless and urgent, mirroring that kind of overwhelm it's describing, but it never once feels messy. Everyone is on their A game and it’s near three minute runtime literally flew by.
ACTVE CAPTVE has crafted something both timely and timeless here, and it's easy to see why this track has become such a favorite. We loved it and we know you will too, now go listen loud! You can do so and follow along for more by clicking those links below.
