AINA creates a moody atmosphere on dreamy single, "Hauntd"

Making a quick return with another outstanding single, AINA has pivoted her sound on “Hauntd” for something that we’re welcoming with open arms. Do yourselves a favor and read on for a closer look into the track, as well as an update on this artist.

For those out of the loop, AINA is an immensely talented artist currently based out of Los Angeles, California. You may remember a couple weeks back when we shared our stellar review of “lightnin’, so you can only imagine our sheer joy knowing that “Hauntd” was on its way. Officially being released on September 16th, AINA has gone in a more refined and slightly dream poppy direction that’s equated to an intimate and vulnerable sound compared to previous tracks. Of course we love it and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy it on release day.

Serving as her third single of the year, we appreciate more than we can almost communicate the wide net of sound and styles that she’s experimenting with. While it all certainly falls under the big umbrella of Pop, it also gives AINA the opportunity to receive feedback from her listeners on what they might prefer. As a recording artist and multi-talented performer, we also must add that she’s the brains behind the single artwork which fully encapsulates the feel and vibe that “Hauntd” gives off. You may not realize it, but subconsciously we think the artwork is incredibly important and sets the stage for what you might expect before clicking the play button.

The actual song itself is fairly refined on the instrumentation, relying on subtle synthesizers to create that vibe and cloud-like atmosphere. We much prefer the stripped back approach because it allows for her voice to be up close, in your face, and actually be able to attempt to break down her songwriting. Compared to “lightnin’”, this feels like such a raw performance that brings you closer to knowing who the actual artist is, like reading chapters of her book as the story continues to unfold. At three minutes even in length, you’re certainly left wanting more and it’s primed for repeated listens, we can fully admit we’ve gone back at least 5 times by now.

While we patiently wait for 9/16 to come around, we’ve included the most important links below so that you can catch up on her music and follow along for all major news. Enjoy!
