boywithahalo shares perfect indie pop single, "summer we never had"

Single after single, we just keep hearing massive improvements coming from boywithahalo, especially on this latest output “summer we never had”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along for our in-depth review of the track, as well as a background on the artist as well.

Crafting up next level indie pop, boywithahalo has given listeners a glimpse into a relatable 2020 story, in which they detail the “summer we never had”. Blending in bits of genres outside the indie-sphere such as a bit of rap and hip hop, our first listen immediately took us by hold and didn’t let go until the final moments. We overwhelmingly recommend a listen of this new track.

Following up other recently released singles like “story” and “16 years”, boywithahalo is casting a wide net of sounds within his overall instrumentation and musical aesthetic. As mentioned, we couldn’t help but quickly fall in love with everything about this newest single as it was truly a nice piece of original music within the indie pop and rock space. Currently based out of Dallas, Texas, this artist is quickly making a name for themselves as they continue to mash up the best of a handful of genres.

On the production side of things, you can expect a bit of a lo-fi feel, but with cunning and vibrant instrumentation throughout the entirety of the listen. While it’s certainly interesting to listen to, the stand out and highlight by far was the vocals and delivery. When we think of “indie”, this is the exact type of vocal structure we hope to hear. Hitting such high notes effortlessly and driving serious focus from us to the music wasn’t what we were expecting, but we’re beyond happy it turned out this way. Really, there isn’t a single piece of negative critiques we could provide for this track.

As you can see taking a look at this musician’s discography, the release schedule has been quite consistent and everything shared so far has been of the utmost quality. It has us incredibly excited to see what else may be on the way in the near future, but also to explore everything we may have missed. Yet again, we have to recommend you check out “summer we never had” and a deep dive on this artist’s music, you’re in for a great time.
