Chloé French captures magic on the groove-driven "Tu sais me faire danser"

We’ll say it 1000 more times because it’s true, we legitimately love everything Chloé French is doing. Chloé French manages to bottle a ton of different groove-laden feelings on "Tu sais me faire danser." Translated as "You know how to make me dance," this track captures that fleeting, electric moment when a glance across a room and a song hitting at just the right second completely shifts the rhythm of your evening. It's a beautiful thing to try and put into music, and French pulls it off with her own personal style.

The groove here is undeniable from the very first beat. There's something so effortless about how this track moves, equal parts intimate and euphoric, like it's suspending time right along with the memory it's describing. French makes it feel completely natural, letting the song build an energy that pulls you right into that specific moment she's singing about.

A lot of that comes down to the partnership behind this track. Written and produced alongside Ben Cronin of the acclaimed disco-house duo Gilligan Moss at Kensaltown East Studios in NYC, "Tu sais me faire danser" carries a sense of craft and intention. You can hear that disco-house sensibility woven throughout, giving the track a shimmering, danceable feel that still leaves plenty of room for genuine emotion to come through. Though the production and instrumentation is fantastic, we felt the song was only propelled by that insanely catchy bass line that you can feel in your soul. The thump of the plucked strings hits you right in the core in the coolest way possible.

At just 24, she's already lived and absorbed so much, from the smoky cafés of Geneva to the poetic energy of Paris and the underground club scene in Berlin, and now she's channeling all of that through the raw pulse of New York City. We’ve reviewed her a handful of times and somehow the quality just manages to increase everytime. She’s found her sound and that blend of European sophistication and NYC energy gives her music a really magnetic quality. Of course you’ve got to listen to this one, but you’d be a fool not to dig into her past catalog.

This follows the release of her debut EP "The NY Tapes," this track feels like a confident continuation of everything that made that project so exciting, while still pushing her sound forward in new directions. "Tu sais me faire danser" is a gorgeous little time capsule of a song, the kind that makes you want to chase down your own version of that magic night. We’ve linked everything below (and the music video above) so that you can listen in and of course to follow along for more. Sincerely, we’re excited for what’s next!
