Eliza Spear pens another winner on single, "Land Mines"

Officially released on March 12th, 2021, Eliza Spear has put forth yet another stunner of a single, titled “Land Mines”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along for our full thoughts on the track, as well as a refresher on one of our favorite blossoming artists.

In case it wasn’t clear, Los Angeles singer and songwriter Eliza Spear takes up a lot of space in our musical brains. Having released her past couple singles such as “I Don’t Want To Be A Hero” and “If I Don’t Try”, it’s not an overstatement when we say she’s consistently improving on each subsequent release. “Land Mines” is no different, because to be as straightforward as possible, it’s awesome.

Featuring a superb instrumentation as usual, paired with compelling lyrics, and of course Eliza’s ethereal vocals, it should go without saying that this one’s a winner. At just two and a half minutes in total run time, the track certainly doesn’t overstay its welcome and rather gets to the point quickly. In the artist’s ever growing discography, it feels like the obvious evolution of sound and maybe even a more mature take on what’s been released in the past. Listen to it all though and be your own judge, these are just opinions on a page.

Talking about the genre of the song for just a moment, we do confidently feel that this isn’t in a single lane of just country or just rock. As artists evolve and enlist different studio musicians to feature on their tracks, things can sway a bit, but we’re definitely fans of blurring the lines as to what’s what. It leaves so much room open for a pivot in the future or for more experimentation. Eliza Spear rap album anyone? Just kidding...unless?

Totally kidding, although we’re sure she’d be capable of it. The main point that we’re trying to make here without going too far off the rails is that “Land Mines” needs to be the next song in your lineup or next addition to your many playlists. As we’ve said multiple times in the past, Eliza is the real deal and deserves all your listens and adoration. Do yourselves that favor we mentioned in the beginning and get to listening. There’s also a pretty impressive back discography to get into as well, go ahead and become a superfan.
