Emuell Tedford shows off on new summery slow jam single, "Incredible Girl"

Showing off on his all new single, “Incredible Girl”, Emuell Tedford has brought the summery slow jam we needed in our lives. Please do yourselves a favor and check out our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist himself.
For those who may be unaware, Emuell Tedford is a composer, music director and pianist from Detroit, Michigan, who is currently creating stunning original music with his mix of jazz, pop and R&B. This new single, "Incredible Girl" is no exception in the slightest. It's from his forthcoming album Keynotes of Emuell, which allows you to journey back to an era that placed a premium on instrumental musicianship.
Tedford says, “the song was written after watching my life partner operate throughout life on a daily basis. I started to journal her daily tasks and begin to say, wow this woman is incredible! I then began to think about my Mother and all of the incredible women around the world, as they carry the weight of life on their shoulders." Additionally, Emuell got some pretty incredible people to help out with the creation of the song, including Grammy Award winning Producer and Engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter).
As for the track itself, this is just the type of positivity we needed in our lives. As soon as the acoustic opening and introduction of spoken word, we were sold. Throughout the actual song though, things continued to get better as we set into the groove. Featuring Daft Punk-like vocal effects and the repetitiveness of “Incredible Girl”, it’s a song you’re able to just zone out to and let the groove flow through you.
Considering that Emuell’s upcoming album, Keynotes of Emuell, is on its way, it would be foolish of us to say that we’re not extremely excited to see what a full length record of tracks just like these would sound like. Sometimes we feel like the genre of pure R&B is often forgot about, so it’s always a plus to see artists putting in their best attempts to revive. Although so much has already been done within the genre, we honestly feel that Emuell has what it takes to put his own creative spin on things. We’ll be watching for the release with a close eye.
This was our first foray into the music of Emuell, but it’s certainly not going to be our last. After multiple listens of “Incredible Girl”, consider us fans of anything else he’ll be putting out in his hopefully long and illustrious career. With this all being said though, it’s about that time we let you know to stop reading, and start listening!
