Fauxes explode on mind bending single, "Heavy"
Coming out hot in 2022 with a mind bending new single they’ve titled “Heavy”, we’re overjoyed with the latest release from Fauxes. Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging band.
Currently representing the San Francisco music scene, Fauxes are deliberately mashing up nostalgic sounds of the past with a futuristic garage rock tinge to it all. On their latest masterpiece “Heavy”, they’re taking the listener on a psychedelic journey through multiple genres, styles, and wavelengths for a memorable ride. We sincerely loved every moment of it and can’t wait for everyone to hit that play button.
What was initially a “one-off, garage rock project for a basement show” has spiraled into a full fledged band that aims to continuously reinvent their sound on each subsequent release. Led by hypnotic vocals, atmospheric guitar tones, and ultimately a wall of sound that’s hard to look away from, they’ve nailed it on “Heavy”. You can certainly feel those influences come through from Brian Jonestown Massacre and Jefferson Airplane, but they’ve still managed to infuse so much of their own personalities into what you’re about to hear. “Heavy” is a sneak preview of what’s to come, because the rumor is that they’ll be using the second half of 2022 to get a debut album recorded.
While it felt like we enjoyed everything from start to finish, the overall essence of the song and its ease of sucking us in immediately had to be a standout. This is our preferred style of music to listen to in our free time, so we tend to “judge” a bit harder, but this will definitely be a constant listen for us. Additionally, we’ll be using the near future to do a deep dive on their existing discography to see where they’ve come from and where they’re headed. If “Heavy” is the present, we’re more than ready to see what the future holds.
