Shared officially on February 21st, 2021, Freyah’s debut record Run WIld has finally been released! We got the unique opportunity to speak with Diane Lutz, the artist behind the music, on all the finer details of the record. You can watch our full interview below.

What could be considered a playfully dark album, Freyah’s Run WIld exudes a healthy dose of gritty and soulful rock and roll. The artist has done an overly impressive job of keeping the instrumentation interesting, but also not hesitating to show off her vocals that are overly commanding. We think that our interview with the artist does the best job at really letting you know how we feel about it though.

In addition to our talk, we got some inside info on the origins of the record. According to Freyah, “Some of this album was cathartic for me- digging deep into my own rebellious nature, digging deep into the depths of betrayal, right and wrong, good and evil. Some of this album was just good plain old campfire-story-telling-tales just for the sake of telling a good story. Betrayal, secrets, desires, getting into some seriously bad situations and a bunch of IDGAF attitude.... it’s all in there. “

With an attitude like that and the talent to back it up, we’re confident that this is going to one of many successful releases from the artist. At just seven songs, spanning a twenty three minute run time, there’s so many compelling tales and stories being told. The best part of it all is that it’s genuine and a majority of the songs are coming from real life experiences. A manufactured story always has a hint to it that you can tell, but Freyah’s music is about as genuine as it gets.
