Heem the Artist lets loose another catchy single, "Like It / Love It"
After an incredibly busy 2020 in terms of single releases, Heem the Artist is still on a roll with the fresh share of “Like It / Love It”. Please read on for our full review and background on the artist as well.
With yet another single release this year that has piqued our interest, Heem the Artist continues to put his own spin on Hip Hop with “Like It / Love It”. Immediately based off our first listen, we vibed with the song so much, we just had to go back and listen to the rest of Heem’s discography. To no surprise in the slightest, all of his music is truly wonderful.
What started out as the artist getting kicked out of choir because he “couldn’t sing”, he’s proved the world wrong with each and every piece of music that has been shared. Having been a former gang member, we’re thrilled that he’s off that path and into something much more productive like creating music for the entire world to listen to. Even if it’s just made one person happy by listening, that’s enough of a difference to put a real smile on someone’s face.
Now a budding pop artist and college graduate, the path has only changed better for this talented musician. According to him, “Life is a hell of a ride”. We could not possibly agree more. Seeing the path that he was on and now having an accomplished discography of music to listen to is quite the feat for anyone, let alone someone with his circumstances.
On this newest single, Heem the Artist has managed to take the best elements from Hip Hop music and fuse them with his signature style. As lyrically dense and complex as the song is, it still gives the listener the opportunity to kick back and roll with it. Letting the music flow through you and appreciating the fine production for what it is is the way to enjoy this single.
We can see that for the most part, it’s been a string of singles that have been released from the musician, however we definitely need a cohesive EP or album from him in the coming months. We’d love to hear a start to finish album that runs through his personal experiences, wrapped up in a smooth feel that will have us coming back for more. No rush to the artist though!
