JJ’s Music Retaliation shares a fuzz-inspired Garage Rock track, “Yours Mine Garbage”
One of the most consistently fascinating things about JJ's Music Retaliation is how unpredictable the project has become. At this point, trying to pin down a singular sound feels almost pointless. One release might drift through cosmic psychedelic textures like a transmission from a forgotten planetarium, while the next barrels through the speakers with the grime of a band playing in a sweaty garage with the amps cranked far beyond safe limits. “Yours Mine Garbage” falls firmly into the latter category, and it might be one of the most immediately satisfying tracks he’s put out yet.
While the DNA of his psychedelic style still lingers in the corners of the song, this latest single trades some of the sprawling experimentation for something leaner, punchier, and far more direct. It’s a crunchy garage rock burner that feels alive with grit!. Clocking in at just under three minutes, the track wastes absolutely no time. It kicks open the door, stomps dirt across the carpet, and dares you not to move.
The guitars are the first thing that grab you. They sound gloriously rough around the edges, packed with fuzzy distortion and jagged texture that gives the song its pulse. It’s raw in the best possible way. Instead of polishing every surface until it gleams, JJ lets the imperfections breathe, and that roughness gives the song plenty of character.
Vocally, this is one of the stronger and most commanding performances he’s delivered so far. His voice has always sat prominently high in the mix, but here it carries a sharper confidence and force behind it. There’s a sneer tucked into certain moments, a kind of wired urgency that matches the instrumentation perfectly.
Many prolific artists eventually fall into repetition, especially when releasing music at the pace JJ’s Music Retaliation has maintained. Instead, every new release seems to arrive with a different shade of paint splashed across the walls. This track feels more structured and focused than some of his more abstract material, and honestly, it suits him incredibly well no matter what. The songwriting feels tighter, the hooks hit harder, and the overall energy makes for one of his most replayable releases yet.
Most importantly, the track is just an absolute blast to listen to. Loud, vibrant, crunchy, and unapologetically weird in all the right ways, “Yours Mine Garbage” proves once again that JJ’s Music Retaliation refuses to stay creatively stagnant. As always, we urge you to listen! Go ahead and click those links below to enjoy, to follow along, and obviously to stay tuned for plenty more.
