Jorden Albright turns manifestation into music magic with “Habit”
Jorden Albright has always made music that feels like a dream you can dance to. However with her new single “Habit,” the Knoxville-based singer, songwriter, and producer sharpens that into something a lot more vivid, grounded, and infinitely more hypnotic. It’s a track that straddles the line between confidence and contemplation, a legitimate two-and-a-half-minute spell that had us hooked from the opening notes.
Typically known for blending electropop, R&B, and alternative textures into cinematic soundscapes, she’s spent the last few years carving out her own corner of the indie landscape. On this song, she fully leans into those hip-hop influences more boldly than ever, crafting what might be her most magnetic track to date.
Built on an airy yet propulsive beat, the song’s production is what instantly stood out to us. The rhythm has bounce, but it’s never overbearing, the synth textures shimmer around it and provide a groove that just makes you want to move around. It’s a sound that feels intentionally minimal yet full of presence, letting Albright’s voice take the spotlight. Her delivery walks that fine line between R&B elegance and hip-hop bravado, and it’s exactly that balance that makes “Habit” soooo good.
Lyrically, the song feels like a mantra, a meditation on repetition, ritual, and the power of manifestation. Albright has described the track as a “witchy hip-hop anthem,” and that’s spot on. Every line carries a sense of intention, as if she’s speaking her success into existence while simultaneously inviting listeners to do the same. It’s hypnotic, catchy, and deeply self-assured, but let’s not forget empowering too.
What really seals the deal, though, is the instrumental breakdown midway through. It’s a moment of pure atmosphere where the production blooms into something almost cosmic.
She continues to push boundaries with ease, weaving genres together until they melt into her own unmistakable sound. This is late-night music for us or maybe if you needed a little self-assuring dopamine hit to get through the day. Regardless, she’s nailed it in the execution and we can’t help but recommend it to all!
