Less lets her vocals explode on ripping single, “Hellya”

With “Hellya,” Less kicks the door off its hinges with an absolutely massive new song. The track arrives as a rock-infused outburst that feels real in every single line delivered with an energy that’s legitimately hard to measure. Clocking in at just over four minutes, the song captures the exact moment when restraint gives way to instinct and when expression stops being polite and starts being necessary.

From the opening notes, there’s a slow burn of the instrumentation. The opening moments feel introspective and slightly unsteady, but we promise that’ll change quick. Less’ voice sits front and center, rich with emotion, literally pulling you inward with a sense of vulnerability that feels almost confessional. Nothing ever feels crowded and in fact, there’s space between the instrumental moments to let the music breathe a bit, right before you experience the explosion in sound.

Then the track goes off. Guitars crash in with a grungey force, drums hit harder, and the entire arrangement swells into something massive and cathartic. You’re on the edge of your seat the entire listen until that moment happens. The contrast between the quieter passages and the bombastic peaks gives the song all its power. When the chorus hits, it lands with such a force as it’s super catchy and emotional, the kind of hook that stays with you because of that vocal delivery that we’re still not over.

Instrumentally, it’s definitely got decades of sound flowing through it. Psychedelic rock textures ripple through the arrangement at times, with very subtle synths adding some color without overwhelming the core rock energy. The production allows everything to breathe while still hitting with weight.

Her vocal performance carries immense heart and soul, shifting effortlessly between fragility and ferocity. That emotional range makes the track resonate beyond just the instrumentals, turning a moment of personal frustration into something broadly relatable.

“Hellya” stands as another strong entry in Less’s growing lineup, but it also feels like a declaration. We’ve reviewed her in the past and obviously loved it, but this feels like a new era beginning to take shape.
