Max Embers honors a legend on single, "mccartney"

Teasing yet another wonderful single off his upcoming EP, Max Embers is back with an homage to one of the greatest on “mccartney”. Please read along with us as we break down our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a look into the artist.

Honoring one of the greatest musicians of our lifetime, Paul McCarney, Max Embers has certainly done him a service with the release of “mccartney”. As his EP idyllwild gets ready to release, each and every single that’s been shared so far has been more impressive than the last. Touring complex themes and innovative lyricism, this newest work works both ways as a strong message and nod to a legend.

Out on July 2nd, 2021, coincidentally this single was written in Idyllwild, California. This song in particular though is themed around water and its ability to flow through the largest openings or tiniest creases.  “Go up when I’m up, fall down when I’m down, never tried, was scared to see how wild it is when I just let it be” says Embers in one of our favorite passages of the whole track.

For us, this song hit on many levels that made it an instant relisten. The highlight by far had to the vocals and delivery, without a doubt, the cadence in which everything was sung and communicated was just spine tingling. One of our favorite parts of Max Embers’ music as a whole is the way that he uses his unique vocal structure as an instrument and a carrier of the message. So many artists out there seem to phone it in and just nonchalantly deliver, but this is really another level of singing right here.

Considering this is the third single ahead of the EP, and they’ve each been equally as impressive, we’d still recommend you kick off your journey into Max Embers’ music with a listen of “mccartney”. Something about was truly just a little extra special than the others, and that’s not to knock those down a peg, but simply this had a special aura surrounding it in some mysterious way. If you don’t believe us, you’ll just have to listen for yourself. Enjoy!
