Maxx opens up on emotional single, "Breaking Out"

Recently released, Maxx has put forth her new single in the form of an emotional ballad, “Breaking Out”. We’re truly loving this one. Read along with us for our full thoughts on the track, in addition to an insight on the artist.

Having gone through immense amounts of problems in her childhood, Maxx has found peace in putting pen to paper on songs that have helped to heal painful wounds. Filled with deep lyricism, a stellar production, and angelic vocals, we’ve quickly come to love her second single “Breaking Out”.

You’ll notice immediately, but these songs by Maxx are not for the lighthearted. As recent as 2018, the artist began writing songs that quickly became therapy sessions for her. Through writing, it has helped her heal and become inspired to write more and more. It’s helped to navigate through the pain, but in another way, it can help those who have gone through something similar and know they’re not alone.

On “Breaking Out” specifically, this near four minute ballad shines a light on personal problems through a lyrically focused ballad that is quite easy to understand if you listen closely. Like most of her music from what we can tell, it’s explaining stories that are of a serious subject matter. However, the way she’s managed to form the songs exude a true beauty underneath all of the pain. For so many it seems that they don’t have the strength to put the traumas into words, but we’re thankful at least one artist out there has flipped it and put her heart on her sleeve in order to show the world what she’s really made of.

Instrumentally, the song is divine from start to finish. In its production it has a warm and intimate feeling that wraps you up into the subject matter and takes hold until the closing moments. We really can’t imagine how difficult of a process it must have been to relive these moments in your head and try to form meaningful lyrics, but somehow Maxx found a way and we commend her for it.

Even if you haven’t gone through something like this in your lives, it doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy the song. At its core, it’s beauty is incarnated into something personal and special. This isn’t going to be your cookie-cutter pop track that sounds like the rest of the Top 40 radio hits, there’s a serious undertone and maturity about it that is just plain special. With that, we can’t help but recommend all of the listens to not only “Breaking Out”, but the rest of Maxx’s discography as well. Enjoy!
