Moon and Aries’ “High Noon” paints a lush cinematic journey - Interview

Moon and Aries' latest single, “High Noon,” is one of those rare releases that gives off a truly special feeling from its opening moments, transporting you into a sweeping desert panorama where the vibe is seemingly perfect. Blending atmospheric electronics with soulful vocals, expressive instrumentation, and cinematic storytelling, the Canadian-German duo once again have shown the world just how different they’re doing things.

Built around the concept of stepping into the light and embracing truth beyond fear, “High Noon” balances introspection with optimism. It never feels heavy-handed in its message though, instead allowing its carefully crafted soundscape to carry all the weight.

One of the defining strengths of Moon and Aries has always been the creative partnership between vocalist Jordana and producer Tom. Together, they have developed what they fittingly describe as "Electronic Cinematic Soul”. Their chemistry is strong than ever and we made it very clear during our conversation with Jordana just how outstanding this song was.

Jordana's vocal performance is nothing short of exceptional! Her voice glides effortlessly through the arrangement with elegance and sincerity. Rather than overpowering an already rich production, her vocals become another instrument within the immersive landscape. You latch onto the tone and it’s almost as if she whisks you away with every word.

Tom's production deserves equal recognition! His ability to weave together these trip-hop inspired rhythms, electronics, and subtle cinematic flourishes created a sound that feels simultaneously intimate and vast. The addition of Peter J. Mitchell's beautifully textured guitar work and Hanna Marchand's saxophone adds another level of genius to an already jam packed song.

Having recently spoken with Jordana during our interview (linked above), it became even clearer how much intention exists behind every Moon and Aries release. Our conversation explored her role within the project, the collaborative relationship she shares with Tom, and the unique process of recording and creating music across continents while maintaining such a cohesive artistic vision. We loved our time with her and think it’s so important to learn about the song, so please check it out when you get a moment!

Dreamy, lush, and just downright beautiful, “High Noon” is another impressive chapter in Moon and Aries' growing catalog. Everything about it is lovely and you should definitely listen of course, but grab a nice pair of headphones to really sink into the mix. As both a standalone single and a glimpse into the upcoming Prairie Souls EP, this one’s a massive winner. Go ahead and click those links below to listen in and to follow along for so much more.
