Movie Club shares colorized version of music video for "Black Flamingo"

In celebration of Halloween, Movie Club have just delivered an outstanding updated version of their music video for their single, “Black Flamingo”. Please do yourselves a huge favor and read on for our full review, as well as a much needed update on the band.

Released in 2020 through their EP of the same name, Movie Club’s single “Black Flamingo” was always an instant hit in our eyes and ears. Considering this review coming is out on release day, Halloween, it’s only right that you kickstart your day with the color version of the music video, an absolutely stellar display of cinematography that fits unbelievably well with the overall tones and mood of the track. Says Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters), this music video looks like a $100,000 production” and we couldn’t help but agree with that statement after watching.

Coming in at just a tad over three and a half minutes in length, everything about the actual song “Black Flamingo” is breathtaking. As an all instrumental song that slowly builds and builds into its inevitable climax, it’s one that definitely needed a music video to help communicate the message as well. Given that it's been out for a while and has gotten a revamp so to speak, we’re honestly thrilled that it’s also given the opportunity to rediscover the album. We enjoyed it so much when it was sent over in 2020 and at this point it’s almost acted like a time capsule considering all everyone’s been through since then. While we don’t want to spoil too much regarding the video because we’d obviously prefer you check it out for yourselves, we’ll still happily point you in the direction of Black Flamingo as an outrageously impressive debut album.

On the creation of the actual video though, Jessamyn Violet (drums) and Vince Cuneo (guitar) ultimately have been dead set on blending their music through film. Having won several international film awards for their music video “Trap Door” that was released earlier this year, it was only right they took the time to give this aforementioned remix it deserved. Wherever you might be celebrating Halloween, indoors or out, the music video for “Black Flamingo” will 100% be a fitting addition to your evening.
