Oskar Brandt shares his cinematic debut single with "Now or Never"
For us, there's something extremely thrilling about a debut single that sounds like it was written for the big screen "Now or Never" has left that impression with absolute ease! The Berlin based singer-songwriter Oskar Brandt steps into the spotlight here with an orchestral pop track that feels less like a first release and more like a fully realized artistic statement. Honestly, we’re blown away by how much we loved it.
Brandt has always been drawn to storytelling, especially the kind found in films or musicals, and that influence is so clearly all over this song. It's built with sweeping, cinematic instrumentals that make the whole thing feel grand without ever tipping into excess. There's a sense of scale here, but it never overwhelms the emotion, which is a tricky balance for any debut artist to strike this early on.
Lyrically, the song captures a really specific kind of urgency, love caught in a difficult moment, but still holding onto a quiet hope that things might come back together. His words paint a picture, but really we thought it was all in his delivery. It’s like you believe every word that’s coming out of his mouth.

Despite all that sweeping instrumentation surrounding him, his voice never gets lost. The mixing on this track is 100% on point. Though we’d still recommend you give it a spin with a nice pair of headphones to really feel those subtleties.
Everything is executed with precision, the technicals are spot on from start to finish and we felt it gave the track a polished and professional feel. It's a complex song in terms of arrangement, but it never feels cluttered or overly ambitious just because. Instead, it's just super pretty to listen to. It’s catchy in its own grand way. Even though it’s labeled as “orchestral pop”, we still felt like it touched on plenty of other subgenres.
For a debut single, "Now or Never" has set an incredibly high bar.
