Patrik Kabongo drops thought provoking LP, "High End Pack"
On an album that simply doesn’t let up even for a second from start to finish, we’re completely impressed with High End Pack coming from Patrik Kabongo. Please keep reading for our close look at the record, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
As soon as the lead single “98 Degrees” came out ahead of the album’s release, we had a feeling that Patrik Kabongo was about to have something real special on his hands. Now with the full release of the record, he’s put something truly momentous out that leans into the hot summer months and emulates tropical themed sounds. Moody, sophisticated, and ultimately straight fire, we are highly recommending a listen.
Coming in at 8 total tracks, spanning just about 18 minutes, High End Pack is an ideal bite size record that favors those who enjoy a record with high replayability. On the background of the album, Patrik states, “I wanted to create a high tempo song for the summer. Something that would have the blended energy of heavy trap bass and Lil Mama's ‘Lip Gloss’”. Well Patrik, you’ve done exactly that and the hard work shows completely.
Currently based out of Canada, Patrik is a rapper, songwriter, and basically a composer who has orchestrated one of our favorite Hip Hop records of the year. He’s slowly been gaining praise for his music releases of the past, however we confidently feel that High End Pack should get the entirety of the music scene talking pretty quick. We suppose the first step to getting there is to listen, which you should absolutely do.
For a record that is relatively short so to speak, we’re thrilled that there wasn’t any pointless filler or unnecessary stat stuffing tracks just to make something longer. What you’re getting in these 18 minutes is an unfiltered and highly produced piece of art that you just know is bursting with passion and experience from an artist that you’ll get to learn all about from his experiences.
