Although Rich has claimed to enjoy the “guilty pleasure” aspect of music and songwriting, we confidently feel that a majority of listeners out there consume music for the way it makes them feel, rather than the song’s context. While his songwriting continues to be superior in every sense, so much of what we’ve enjoyed about Rich’s music in the past is the positivity it inflicts on us after multiple listens. Fueled by resounding acoustics and his smooth vocal presence, he wastes no time on “I Wonder” getting to the point. Of course this song has a certain vibrant feeling to it that will leave you buzzing, but if you’re looking to focus a bit more, the lyrics really are meaningful and a nice look back on the past. It’s always an interesting feeling to think about what could have happened, but if anything, it provides the life experience to craft a lovely song around.
As a whole though, Rich’s music does the fun thing of experimenting with decades as opposed to hopping around genres so much.
