Sam MacPherson enters the music scene on striking single, "Routine"
Officially released on February 10th, 2021, Sam MacPherson has started the year off in a big way by putting out a new single, “Routine”. We’re loving it! Please read along with us as we share our insights into the song, as well as a background on the artist as well.
Raised in Red Bank, New Jersey, but a recent transplant to the Los Angeles music scene, Sam MacPherson is a singer and songwriter who has had music embedded in him since a young age. Being raised on The Beatles and Stevie Wonder, thanks to his parents, he aims to provide comfort and support within his art. Without a doubt his sound is original, and we’re absolutely thrilled to be covering it.
With a music video that’s set to release alongside the song, Sam has dove head first into crafting an image that all are set to love. Additionally, if there was ever an incentive to try your best and give it your all, it would be to make the nerve-wracking move into Los Angeles. In a city that’s hard to stand out in, we think that based off of this single, Sam’s got what it takes.
Specifically on “Routine”, the artist has opened up in a way that gives a specific focus to his life, but also provides a perspective that is extremely relatable to the average listener. There are plenty of points within the song, lyrically at least, that make you look within and reflect on your life.
Productionally speaking though, Sam and his team have crafted a song that just plain sounds great. Obviously the standout here would be the artist’s vocals, but there are really so many artists that sound great. The differentiator here is that it sounds complete, the mixing is on point, and you can really pinpoint the love and care that went into creating it. No corners were cut on the creation of this music, and it seriously shows.
For a single coming from a relatively unknown artist, this is about as great of a start as you can get. Those who are just discovering Sam MacPherson for the first time are in for a fantastic first impression. When it comes to impressions of an artist, you really don’t have much time to grab a listener in today’s day and age, but you’ll be able to tell there’s something seriously special about what the future holds.
With that being said though, we’re looking down the line for more to be released. It looks like Sam has a busy year ahead of him, so we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what’s to come. For now though, listen, and enjoy!
