Silo Hill shares well-rounded album experience in "Neither Here Nor There"

Infusing thoughtful touches into every moment of his new record Neither Here Nor There, Silo Hill is showing the world exactly what he’s made of. Please read on for our glowing review of the album, as well as a much needed background on the artist.

After our initial listen of Neither Here Nor There, a resounding “wow” washed over us as we began to process exactly what we’d just heard. Mashing up together a fairly even mix of acoustic guitar and electric-driven folk-inspired rock, the musical project of Silo Hill has so clearly hit on every cylinder. Needless to say, we overwhelmingly recommend everyone dive into this thriller as soon as possible.

While it felt like each song took on its own little world, by the end of the record that feeling of cohesiveness in the listen came forward. Every song assuredly could’ve been a single, which in our eyes is the highest of compliments, but listening from start to finish and really being immersed is what pushed us over the edge. There’s a nonstop creativity within the songwriting that comes out quickly, but even just the inventive song structures and vocal delivery were out of this world and out of the box.

For us, songs like “No, I Don’t Quite Know What You Mean”, “You Are Sane”, and “Losing Count” were clear standouts. With that being said though, every moment really had memorable passages that will keep us coming back. Seeing as though this is Silo Hill’s debut album to the world, and what we’re hoping is the beginning of a prosperous musical career, we’ll anxiously be awaiting the followup whenever that may be. Music like this that actively goes out of its way to be different and break the mold deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.

Whether it’s the fact that this genre and style is exactly what we listen to in our free time or not, even the most amateur of music listeners could find something to rejoice in. It’s actually difficult to narrow down the highlights because there were so many, but ultimately it’s the well roundedness of it all and that complete feeling you’ll be left with. Neither Here Nor There was lovely almost beyond comprehension and that’s not an overstatement.
