This new album from the Italian composer and producer, based near Rome, is a genuinely moving collection that sits somewhere between cinematic orchestral music, emotional soundtrack composition, and epic contemporary classical work.

Thematically, this record digs into something really rich, the relationship between loss, memory, and what we carry forward as time moves us further from it. Ashes become a recurring symbol throughout for memory and transformation, while time itself represents the inevitability of change. Every wordless composition here draws from real experiences of loss and human connection, but there's always a sense of hope woven in too, that light can still be found after difficult moments. It's a beautifully thoughtful concept, and Schintu carries it convincingly across the entire record without ever needing a single lyric to make his point land.

Schintu describes starting with melodies imagined internally, then refining them at the piano until they found a clear emotional shape before building outward into fuller arrangements. That process shows in how intentional every track feels, nothing here sounds accidental or filler. From there, he expanded each piece in Logic, experimenting with orchestration, dynamics, and texture, revisiting tracks repeatedly until they matched the vision in his head. That kind of patience really comes through in the finished product, which feels meticulously considered from start to finish.

The production throughout balances virtual instruments with more experimental sound design choices, moving fluidly between intimate, quieter passages and much bigger, sweeping orchestral swells. That range gives the album real dynamic tension, never settling into one mood for too long, always building toward something. Pianist and arranger Edgardo Caputo lent his expertise during the arrangement process, and that added support helps give the record an extra layer of polish, even though this remains very much Schintu's singular vision.
