The Confederation excel on multi-genre single, "Coat In The Highway"
Here’s a collective of musicians that don’t miss! The Confederation are back with another stunner of a single called “Coat In The Highway”. Check out our full review of the track, in addition to a background on this musical project.
Blending together a seemingly infinite number of genres that range from Soul, Pop, and Rock all the way to Jazz, Funk, or Fusion, The Confederation are pulling from so many influences to create a sound that’s incredibly original. On their newest single “Coat In The Highway”, they’ve so clearly put something together special and it 100% shows within the passion and love that the song holds. We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend you check it out.
Made up of Lynz Crichton (vocals), Jill Mccracken (vocals), Steven Blessing (guitar), and Simon Jolly (keyboards), The Confederation are a creative collective that are led by so many inspirations. Written and orchestrated mainly by Simon, the group aims to create music with no walls, and for that they’ve made only beautiful music that doesn’t obey by those strict guidelines.
As for this newest single “Coat In The Highway”, it’s almost shocking to the point of how well this song works given how many components have been infused. What we’re trying to say is that the focus of the song feels like it’s all over the place, but at the same time nothing skips a beat and it ultimately comes together without flaws. You’re immediately transported into a world of soul and the complex vocals mixed with inventive instrumentation are the guiding light to a song that we’ve fallen in love with.
Considering this was our first introduction to the group, they’ve left us with our jaws on the floor and a deep appreciation for the music they’re making. Needless to say they’ve created fans in us and we’ll undoubtedly be keeping a close on what’s to come. “Coat In The Highway” was downright impressive, but we have a feeling there’s plenty more gems to discover. We can’t wait to dive down their discography and see what else is hiding!
