The Lovers revitalize on folk-inspired EP, "Lite Brite"

The day could not have come soon enough, but thankfully it’s June 10th, 2021 and The Lovers’ newest EP Lite Brite has been released! Please read along with us for our full thoughts on the record, as well as a background on the duo.

Made up of Amanda June and Cole Vosbury (Top 5 finalist on NBC’s The Voice), The Lovers are a Nashville duo that have surpassed our every expectation on their EP, Lite Brite. Channeling a mix of folk, classic Americana and, featuring touches of synths, this EP is a warm and cozy feeling from top to bottom.

After seeing a ton of success on their first single “Let’s Get Lost”, it wasn’t long until The Lovers realized they were a serious force to be reckoned with. Exploding with energy within their deep lyricism and ultimately keeping us engaged from the first song until the last, we can’t help but just let you know right now this deserves your full and focused attention. It’s honest, fulfilling, and explores some personal stories and self-discovery within its six track run.

Leaning more on the folk side of things, the duo has not pigeon holed themselves into one specific song throughout the record. In fact, it takes liberties throughout the instrumentation that may have felt bold through the first run through, but after now repeated listened have melted in seamlessly to the cohesive sound. While all songs could certainly be cherry picked into individual mood-specific playlists, we think the best type of listen would be to click play at the beginning and let it run through.

Additionally, for those who are interested in listening, we’ve linked the band’s Bandcamp page below so that you can purchase and support a pair of independent artists who truly deserve recognition. Believe us, we could go on and on explaining every single tidbit about how much we loved this EP, but please take our word for it and just give it a listen at the least. It’s moving, riveting in its structure, and has provided a beyond necessary fresh take on a worn out genre.

Wrapping it all up though, you can also follow along with The Lovers’ future releases by clicking the links below for their social media. We know we will be! Take care, enjoy the weekend, and get into Lite Brite as soon as you can.
