Tom Morfitt-White surpasses our wildest expectations with EP, "Love Me Now"
When we first talked to Tom Morfitt-White in our interview recently, we instantly knew he was going to be an artist that would consistently impress. With his debut EP just released, titled "Love Me Now,”, he’s made a genuinely strong case for why he's already being talked about as a rising star. Released through the independent label White Light Records on September 4th, this project feels like a great snapshot of everything he's capable of, and it's exciting to think this is only the beginning!
Recorded at TYX Studios in London with producer Magill Lamarre back in December 2025, and mastered in Sydney by Steve Smart at Studios 301, this EP carries a beautiful and real polish throughout. The production is lush and well crafted, giving each track room to breathe while still keeping Morfitt-White's voice front and center, and honestly, that voice is one of the biggest highlights here. He sings with a maturity and emotional clarity that feels well beyond his years, and it's easy to hear why everyone’s raving about him…including us.
The EP brings together his previously released singles "Home" and the title track "Love Me Now," both of which have already found a home on radio stations across Australia, alongside two brand new songs that round out the project beautifully. "Blood Is the Knight" is a brooding number that looks at self-harm from the perspective of a close bystander. Given the subject matter, it's worth noting as a content consideration for listeners, but it's handled thoughtfully rather than gratuitously.
"Fall," by contrast, offers a much lighter touch, dancing through the messy, shifting nature of a relationship in flux. We reviewed the title track previously, and that’s the one we spoke in-depth about. For us it was an exceptional intro to the artist, but what’s followed is unbelievable. The way these songs are constructed, orchestrated, and beyond just show he’s got that vision to really create an experience rather than just your typical song.
Together, these four songs create something for everyone, moving between heavier, more reflective moments and lighter passages without ever losing the alt-pop identity that ties it all together. It’s sooo difficult to nail that cohesiveness with different songs, but he’s done so. Though we’d contribute it again to his vocals that serve as the constant, it’s subconsciously so much more than that.
As a precursor to a full album set to be recorded later in 2026, "Love Me Now" is the perfect introduction to what Tom Morfitt-White is building. With an EP launch happening September 12th at the Esplanade Hotel in Queenscliff, this feels like the perfect moment to catch an artist right at the start of something special.
