Trevor James returns for a striking new single, "Again"
Following up his 2020 debut EP Breakthrough, Trevor James has just released his long-awaited single “Again”. We are loving it! Please read on for a closer look at the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
Currently representing the music scene in Pennsylvania, Trevor James is a singer and songwriter who’s been hard at work over the past year creating a new batch of tunes for the world to enjoy. Here again with a soft-pop single titled “Again”, it follows the story of your classic guy-meets-girl relationship, but with a twist that truly amplifies Trevor’s passion for songwriting. By the end it’ll have you feeling good and inspired, so please do yourselves all a favor and hit the play button on this one as soon as you can.
While the instrumentation here is gripping from the start as it blends together resonating acoustics, flairs of piano, and of course Trevor’s inviting vocals, it’s really the sincerity in it all that will keep us coming back for subsequent listens. We mean this in the most genuine way possible, but we couldn’t help but feel like this song would be perfect to end and wrap up a mid-2000’s romantic comedy film about coming of age. Due to the combination of its tone and Trevor’s slightly nostalgic sounding voice, it’s got that perfect climax towards the end that lets you know everything's going to end up being just fine.
We also took the opportunity to listen to Breakthrough in full and instantly on our first spin of “Again”, we could sense the growth in nearly every facet of Trevor’s musicianship. We don’t want to downplay at all what he created in the past, but “Again” feels like a serious step in the right direction considering all the work that he’s put in to better himself as an artist over the past two years. His vocals have always been the strong suit, but even the composition here has improved and the way that he’s implemented atmospheric elements into the sound gives it all a newfound complexity too. As this is his first release of the year, we’re 100% intrigued to see the direction that he takes down the line.
