Trish Discord gives a first look at her debut album, "The Aftermath of 2016"

After a series of successful singles over the past year, Trish Discord is aiming to release her debut album The Aftermath of 2016 this coming June. We listened and it surpassed our expectations. Read on for a closer look, in addition to an update on the artist.

Taking the slow approach and teasing out a handful of tracks through the process, we’re beyond thrilled that the big day is finally around the corner. Set to come out on June 17th, 2022, Trish Discord’s debut album titled The Aftermath of 2016 is a sensational mix of genres, filled with powerful statement songs, and an air of positivity and optimism attached as well. We’ve been reviewing her over the year, specifically for “Desire” and “Strife”, but hearing the completed record has completely blown us away.

You’ll probably hear inspiration from some all time great artists such as Linkin Park, Mitski, and even Paramore, but there’s no doubt to say that Trish has imparted a ton of originality and a needed freshness into the mix. She comes out heavily with an empowering vocal delivery on every single song, which has helped immensely to create that signature sound every artist strives for. It’s no surprise that the shared singles were presented as the standouts, but what makes the record so special is everything you haven’t heard yet, because that’s where the beauty and the glue of it all comes from.

Something that we do need to pay extra special attention to is the variety of the instrumentation. We mentioned that the album is genre spanning, but the complete diversity in sound and style all the while keeping things cohesive is something insanely difficult that you might miss the first time around. Fusing elements of swirling synthesizers, bombastic drumming sequences, and shredding guitars, it doesn’t really matter what kind of music you listen to in your everyday lives, you’ll find something to take away and enjoy here. As the record prepares for its release over the next month, we think it would be in everyone’s best interest to familiarize themselves with everything that’s been shared so far.
