Turton sinks into Late-Night seduction with "Give In To Me"

There's a real art to a song that doesn't need a story to make you feel something, and "Give In To Me" proves exactly that. As the second single from Australian artist Turton's forthcoming debut EP, this track sits comfortably in the shadows, dark, intimate, and completely hypnotic, blending alternative art-pop with slight elements of trip-hopthat feel tailor made for the quietest, most private hours of the night.

It started simply as a lyrical idea, developed alongside producer Kav Temperley, but after a break in the process, Kav decided to steer the track somewhere completely different, pulling it into a more atmospheric trip-hop direction. That shift was influenced in part by the pair reminiscing about time spent together in the UK, and that quiet nostalgia clearly seeped into the finished product. Turton then re-recorded her vocal to fit within that new sonic world, and it's in that moment the song finally found its true identity, one that ended up shaping the direction of the whole EP moving forward.

Rather than aiming for a literal narrative, "Give In To Me" is really about capturing a feeling and that sense of being completely absorbed in a single moment. It's a fitting approach given Turton's background as a poet and writer first, someone who tends to start with words or a feeling before finding the right musical world to hold them. That instinct shows up clearly here, since the song feels less like a story being told and more like an emotion being lived in real time.

Musically, this track is rather subtle and slow moving, but there's real beauty in that restraint, especially in the vocal performance. Turton's voice carries a lot of weight throughout, intimate and evocative in exactly the way her writing has always leaned. Paired with Temperley's atmospheric production, the whole thing feels like it's unfolding in slow motion, patient and unhurried in a way that only deepens its pull.

Given that her upcoming EP promises to move through a wide range of emotional and musical territory, from sharp melodic anger to hazy reflections on old love and even the rush of infatuation on a 3am dancefloor, "Give In To Me" offers a really compelling glimpse into just one corner of that world. We urge everyone out there to grab a nice pair of headphones and sink into this one immediately!
