Violet Love confronts beautiful chaos on genre-warping EP, “Destined to Fail”

With Destined to Fail, released on October 3rd, 2025, Violet Love delivers one of the most emotionally charged and sonically daring EPs of the year. The New Jersey-born, queer Latin American artist lays bare the unfiltered truths of self-discovery, trauma, and transformation across three stunningly crafted tracks. Clocking in at just ten minutes, this EP feels both intimate and monumental, the kind of project that lingers long after the final note fades.

Written, recorded, and mixed entirely in Violet’s bedroom, Destined to Fail pulses with raw honesty and a DIY spirit that elevates every moment. The sound is a legitimate kaleidoscope of genres from alternative rock, glitchy hyperpop, emo, and pop-rock, with each influence melting into the next with effortless cohesion. Rather than feeling scattered, the EP’s shapeshifting nature mirrors the chaos and unpredictability of emotional healing.

Violet’s voice is the gravitational force holding this sonic multiverse together. It’s commanding, explosive, and full of nuance, however still able to soar above distorted guitars one moment and then dissolve into fragile introspection the next. The vocals don’t just tell the story, they embody it, capturing the ache and catharsis of someone unafraid to stare directly into the pain and find beauty in the cracks. Every whisper or layered harmony feels deliberate, the result of an artist who’s both technically gifted and emotionally fearless.

In our conversation with Violet, they opened up about the year-long process of confronting their past and writing from a place of absolute self-honesty. Recorded alone but mastered with professional precision, Destined to Fail stands as proof that true artistry doesn’t require elaborate studios or massive budgets, it requires a vision that was so obviously achieved!

The personal stories are rooted in pain, resilience, and identity that become reflections of our collective struggle to stay afloat in a world that often feels unkind. The songs flow seamlessly together, each one revealing a new facet of Violet’s evolving sound, until the EP feels less like a collection of tracks and more like a single, cathartic confession.

Ultimately, it’s a fearless, genre-defying triumph that marks the arrival of a bold new voice in alternative music. We are so excited for more that’s hopefully in the works, but in the meantime, we urge everyone out there to enjoy the conversation, listen to the record, and of course to follow along for the latest!
