Well Don shines bright on his compelling new single, "Mine Again"

Sharing his first single in 2020, Well Don has officially debuted his newest, “Mine Again”. Please read along with us as we break down our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on this independent artist.
Excelling within the French music scene, Well Don doubles as both a singer and songwriter. The artist was drawn to music from an early age, in which he developed an innate ability for writing and creating melody. Taking influence from learning Gospel singing, to having a strong vocal identity, this is what initially got him noticed by some notable Caribbean music producers.
While you may have seen his Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston cover videos, his real passions come when creating his own original works. Being in the studio has allowed him to fully express himself, especially on this newest single, “Mine Again”. This is what he’s calling a cross-breeding track, in which it doubles in vocal deliveries switching between the English and French language.
Our first impressions on the single were just how perfectly slow and inclusive it really was. It took us by surprise it being in French, as we do not speak the language, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t instantly see the beauty and passion behind the delivery from the artist. As the song went on and it started subtly switching between languages, it became easier to fully understand the transcendent messages being sung across. At this point, we knew this song was going to be a winner.
While it being a mild blend of R&B and pop, we confidently feel that Well Don has succeeded in the creation of this single and it really has us looking forward to an EP or full length album full of songs just like it. While it appears his last LP was released in 2016, we’re crossing our fingers that a new album is on the way, especially with this being his only release of 2020. While we’d never want to rush an artist into pushing out work, we’re seriously hoping that more is coming soon.
Additionally while this was our first deep dive into the music of Well Don, it will certainly not be our last. This song was so pure and from the heart, that it was difficult not to fall in love with it on our first listen.
