Every Can't Miss Artist at Portola Music Festival 2026
Portola Music Festival is back on San Francisco's waterfront for its fifth edition, and this year's lineup might be its most ambitious yet. Set for Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th at Pier 80, the 2026 edition pairs generational pop icons with electronic music's most respected architects, all across one of the more distinctive festival grounds in the country.
Leading the charge is Robyn, fresh off the release of her latest album Sexistential and making Portola her only festival appearance of the year. For a festival built around the intersection of pop and dance music, there's arguably no more fitting headliner, and fans should expect this to be one of the most talked-about sets of the entire weekend. She shares Saturday's marquee with DOG BLOOD, the Skrillex and Boys Noize collaborative project reuniting under that name for the first time since 2019, in what's being billed as their only performance of 2026. That's a genuinely rare booking, the kind of one-off reunion that makes a festival lineup feel like an event rather than just a schedule.
Sunday shifts the spotlight to Swedish House Mafia, the Grammy-nominated trio widely credited with helping push stadium-scale dance music into the mainstream, playing one of only two US dates they currently have announced for 2026. They're joined by fellow Swedish export Zara Larsson, whose Midnight Sun era brings a sound built for stages, club systems, and full-crowd singalongs alike. Between Robyn, Swedish House Mafia, and Larsson, this lineup quietly assembles one of the strongest cross-sections of Swedish pop and dance talent any festival has put together in recent memory, and Tove Lo rounds that trio out elsewhere on the bill with her own blend of vulnerability and late-night hedonism.
That underground-to-mainstream throughline runs deep across the rest of the lineup, too. Four Tet brings his reputation as one of electronic music's most respected figures, while Tiësto takes over the Warehouse stage for what's shaping up to be one of the weekend's unmissable sets, built on the kind of larger-than-life production he's spent decades perfecting. Belgian group Soulwax bring their genre-blurring rock-meets-electronic sound into the mix as well, and their presence ties directly into another major return: DESPACIO, the immersive, enclosed sound system experience built by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem alongside Soulwax's David and Stephen Dewaele and engineer John Klett, comes back to Portola for the full weekend.
The lineup only gets deeper from there. Beastie Boys co-founder Mike D brings his new Mike D 5D project to the pier in one of his only scheduled performances this year, while Hessle Audio's Ben UFO, dancefloor mainstays Groove Armada, genre titan Fatboy Slim, Caribou's club-oriented Daphni alias, and UK duo Overmono round out a stretch of bookings built for listeners who follow left-field sounds as they grow into bigger rooms. Beyond that, an eclectic mix of live acts fills out the bill, including grime icon Skepta, Australian favorites Parcels and Ninajirachi, R&B and electronic songwriter Kelela, beatsmith Channel Tres, producer SG Lewis performing live, Slovakian artist ADÉLA, buzzy New York duo Fcukers, and perreo standout Six Sex. And in a genuinely fun curveball, Melanie C, globally known as Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls, will step behind the decks for a special DJ set of her own.
With a lineup this wide-ranging and this many can't-miss, once-in-a-year bookings, Portola 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most essential festival weekends on the calendar. Mark your calendars for September 26 and 27, because Pier 80 is about to host something special.
