Beans on 2nd LP "All Together Now", their vinyl releases, and musical inspiration

Interview by Austin Sher

Fresh off the release of their highly impressive sophomore album, All Together Now, we got the unique opportunity to speak with frontman Matt Blach of Beans. If you’re unfamiliar with the band or their music, do yourself a favor and check out our full audio interview below.

After releasing their debut LP, Babble, back in 2018, Beans have officially followed it up with what we’re considering to be our personal album of the year so far. Considering the amount of music that comes our way, we can confidently say that All Together Now holds the number 1 spot at the moment. If you’re a fan of straight forward psychedelic rock with a hefty dose of “glam” to it, look no further, because this album is absolutely for you.

While we loved Babble dearly, the direction that Beans took on this recent record was a step in the right direction. The inclusion of so many diverse instruments, the heavy guitar riffs, and clean yet distinct vocals from Matt Blach make it far and away the most interesting thing we’ve heard. Considering that these days Flightless Records pumps out gold on what seems like a monthly basis, it’s truly created fans for life.

During our interview with Matt, we spoke on many topics, but mainly dissected their killer music video for the lead single “Stride”, the process in which they record their records, as well as how coveted their vinyl releases have become over the years. We also touched on the future of touring, what the band was inspired by to create the record, and what they’re personally listening to these days.
