Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on "Mr. Prism", their impending album release, and a return to touring

Interview by Austin Sher

Not long after the release of their newest single and music video for “Mr. Prism”, we got the unique opportunity to chat with Jack McEwan of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. As longtime fans of the Perth-based psych rock project, our conversation was an absolute treat.

While we covered many topics during our near 30 minute conversation, we were obviously most interested in the most up to date details on the impending release of their next album. In addition we talked about their return to touring, backstage experiences at festivals, and how to compose yourself when you’re tripping on acid around Tony Hawk. That’s all we’ll fill you in on for now, but we highly recommend you watch the video below, you certainly won’t regret it.

If you’re unfamiliar with the music of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, you’ve certainly been missing out. Now’s the perfect time though, because we can only imagine that the follow up to And Now For The Whatchamacallit (2019), PPC is going to be even heavier, a lot more jammier, and equally as fun. While we’re partial to their High Visceral series, there really isn’t a piece of music the band has put out that’s been a disappointment. It’s the type of music that’s perfect for an intense workout, a crowded mosh pit, or even just to put on when you need to blow off some steam.

In addition to their music being electric, Jack himself proved to be a lovely conversationalist. Being the little guys in the music scene, it’s always a pleasure to be able to talk to those you listen and look up to. You’ll be able to tell from our conversation just how great of a guy he is.

With all that being said, here’s some links you must check out, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the band:
