L'Impératrice Talk New Music & End of Tour at Austin City Limits

Marking our second interview within the span of three weeks, we caught up once again with one of our personal favorite groups, L'Impératrice. This time we had the chance to speak at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival, which gave us a fresh perspective since our last chat. If you missed out on the first one, we highly recommend you dig right into this.

Celebrating the end of their global tour with a wild performance at Weekend 2 of Austin City Limits, L'Impératrice continue to blow minds with every performance they encounter. Just like last time, we had the opportunity to witness their set prior to the interview, and even in the midst of the Texas heat and humidity, the band put on a jaw dropping display of musicianship, tight choreography, and busted out jams that gave us goosebumps. Spanning their quickly growing discography, fans were treated to some of their bigger tracks off of records like Tako Tsubo, Matahari, and more!

Now of course we don’t want to spoil too much regarding the interview, because we’d prefer for you to watch yourselves, but things got a bit off the rails. We had some minor problems with our audio connection, so mind that, but otherwise the group was in full celebration mode post-performance. We covered ranging topics from their recent collaboration with Rejjie Snow, possible new music on the way, funny touring stories, where not to visit in their home of Paris, and a slew of other great perspectives.

You could tell that even though they were on the heels of a massive world tour, their spirits were still up, but they were also thrilled to get home. While we patiently wait for more new music on the way, they deserve a hearty rest. If you happen to be in the situation of never experiencing their music, what are you waiting for!? We’ve included all the important links below to dip your toes into L'Impératrice, one of our favorites!
