Following up his single “California”, Alexander James Rodriguez has made a big statement with his newest single, “Bella Loquita”. Featuring dual languages of both English and Spanish, get ready to groove down on this beyond catchy track that is redefining the way we’re listening to Samba music. Kicking it right off, we highly recommend you give it a listen and watch the music video for it too.
In case you’ve been out of the loop, Alexander James Rodriguez hasn’t missed once in the past year of his big releases, and we’ve been lucky enough to cover nearly every one of them. “Bella Loquita” is certainly a massive change in style and for the artist, however we have instantly come to love everything about it. While the music video has brought a much needed life to an uptempo and highly danceable track, it’s also allowed for the artist to show off an extreme amount of versatility within his range.
Infused with Mediterranean sounds and co-written by Alexander and his Madrid-native grandfather, the artist has let us know, “I am so excited to bring LATAM music to my portfolio of songs, and ‘Bella Loquita’ is my first of many. In order to stay authentically Spanish, I wrote the lyrics with my 88-year-old grandad who was born and raised in Madrid. We had fun coming up with ideas, “La sirenita de mi corazon” was all him. I am grateful for his ideas and guidance.” If that touching story doesn’t make you want to dive right in, then we don’t know what will!
As if all of this musician’s songs haven’t been instantly accessible, we confidently feel that this may be the one that brings all the notoriety. The weather has been heating up in so much of the world around this time, and it’s songs like this that are meant to be cranked up and sung along. It’s not the type of song you listen to once and forget about, it’s a highly replayable song (and video) that we know we’ll have on all summer and beyond.
