AUXR serves up a lush & laidback new single, "Plastic Love"

A lovely collaboration of stellar production and lush vocals, AUXR has led the way on his latest single titled “Plastic Love”. Keep reading as we take a closer look into the track, in addition to a much needed background on this artist.

Currently representing the music scene in Amsterdam, Netherlands, AUXR is a veteran within the Nudisco and Italo genres, although he’s tried his hand at something a little bit different on his latest, “Plastic Love”. Featuring expressive and emotion-filled vocals from the ever talented Stína Ágústsdóttir, the two have teamed up and excelled on a downtempo and vibey new song. Without a doubt, we’re urging everyone out there to take the time out of their days and give this a listen as soon as possible.

Rooted in Trip-Hop, but certainly embodying the feeling of many different styles, AUXR has used his years of experience to experiment and has pleasantly hit the mark. Our initial feelings on the song had us in a state of relaxation and calm, ultimately because you quickly get sucked into the infinite groove and rhythms that “Plastic Love” has to offer. While it does feature a ton of highlights in our mind, there’s a real intimacy and seduction that pops out right at the forefront. It’s absolutely got a 90’s R&B aura to it as well, which we think can be attributed directly to the vocals, yet the modern soundscapes achieved in the production propel this song to the modern era. It’s a wonderful juxtaposition that keeps on giving the more you listen, but also shows off its massive versatility in when it could be played or enjoyed.

Lyrically speaking, it’s all about a “love affair between a woman who controls the situation and a man who is desperate for her”. That does seem like an all too common occurrence, yet there’s no harm in the slightest at bringing awareness to the story. If anything, it really does add that well rounded feeling that “Plastic Love” holds in all facets, signifying our love for this song and all the artists involved. If for any reason this happens to be your introduction to either AUXR or Stina, this is a perfect jumping off point to explore their respective discographies.
