Sicily Jordan breaks new ground on empowering new single, "Queen"

Dropping her first hit on the world in 2023 titled “Queen”, Sicily Jordan has lived up to the name with another astonishing single. Keep reading as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to a closer look into this artist.

After accomplishing so much last year, especially on her EP Between Us, Sicily Jordan has returned for another mesmerizing and downright expansive sounding single called “Queen”. Surrounding herself with a team of talented producers and co-writers that include Simon Jay, Luke Shrestha, and Justin Tinucci, all the collaborators here have succeeded in their vision to create a short but sweet track that focuses heavily on lyricism, all the while reaching new heights in terms of her artistry. Plain and simple, we love it, and it’s exactly why we’re recommending it to all.

On the background of it all, “Queen” aims to “embrace the feminine nature inclusive of anyone and everyone who identifies with its message”. As the song starts off slow and quickly ramps up to many enthralling moments, it exudes the feeling of empowerment and edge, free flowing through every line that Sicily delivers. From the opening notes and on, as a listener you become laser focused on the message and its deep themes. The way that her voice carries in the mix is certainly right at the forefront, and for us, we think it was a perfect stylistic decision to not have the background overpower or take away from its messaging. If anything, the production and all of its variable effects suited nicely creating a bit of suspense, drama, and a slightly uneasy feeling that somehow draws you in the most.

Of course, it’s also got tons of pop sensibilities and catchy passages that’ll have you humming along for days and weeks to come, we can confirm that right now. At only a little over two minutes in runtime, of course we wish it were longer, but there’s no doubt that it packs a sincere punch and communicates everything it needs to in the time allowed. Through its cinematic and film-esque feel, it’s new ground broken for Sicily Jordan, and we honestly hope that she continues to create in a similar vein as more music continues to be shared.
