Bon Psy engineers an expansive sound on newest single, "Serene"

Busier than ever, we’re beyond thrilled because Bon Psy has just let loose another awe-inspiring single, titled “Serene”. Read along for our in-depth analysis and closer look into the track, as well as a refresher on the artist as well.

Gianluca Cardinale, also known as Bon Psy, is a United Kingdom based bedroom producer creating atmospheric, futuristic, and experimental beats that are truly inspirational. Working in unique sets of rhythms and grooves into every moment of the music, his personal evolution of sound can be deciphered directly by listening to all of his works put out thus far. “Serene” is the newest piece of beauty in his discography and deserves multiple listens.

As for Visco City, you might also know him as London producer Bobby Turner. While he’s certainly got a style of his own, he mainly specializes in the soothing sounds of ambient electronic. Having started out in college making dubstep, his passion for dance music has quickly transitioned into the music you’re hearing today. Displaying a more chilled out and melodic side of music in his current day work, he’s managed to put a debut EP, Solstice, that explores a universe of different textures and tempos. As much as we’re loving Bon Psy’s music, Visco City isn’t to be missed either.

At this point though, it wasn’t too long ago that we covered Bon Psy’s 2020 release, “Ikigai”. Since that moment and since that review, we’ve considered ourselves super fans of the artist and have frequently listened to all of his works in our personal time. On this latest release however, the artist has brought in another exciting new artist into the mix, Visco City. The two have effortlessly blended together their cumulative styles to create a singular track that we think envelops the sound of “experimental”.

As fantastic as the song is, you should also do yourselves a favor and check out the music video to accompany it (linked below). We don’t want to give any spoilers away, but it definitely does bring the song collectively to a higher level, if that was even possible.

Transitioning to the song itself, it’s a tad bit difficult to put into words how great it is without sounding like we’re fangirling too hard. The immediate describers of atmospheric, intense, and heavenly come to mind, but there’s really so many sections of the song that have the potential to make you feel so many different ways, the emotions are endless. What we will say is that electronic music is your thing and you enjoy having your top blown off, “Serene” is for you. Honestly if either of those don’t apply, we’d still recommend a stream.

Seeing as though there were also three major single releases in between “Ikigai” and this newest one “Serene”, we also recommend a listen to all of those. Each one different in its own right, but every bit oozing that signature Bon Psy sound that we’ve grown to love so quickly.

Between the singles, music video, and overall direction that the artist is heading, we’re putting it out into the world right now that we hope to see it performed live one day. We know that mainly the music is created within his bedroom, which is just that much more impressive, however his sound is so expansive that it deserves to live on in a large setting for the masses to take in.
